Stratego® for the Macintosh is a game of strategy in which you attempt to find and capture the computer’s hidden flag. This initial version (up to and including v1.0) is for one player vs. the Macintosh only; future versions will allow two players to compete via modem or direct serial connection.
This program is not Public Domain (in other words, I don’t relinquish any rights to it that I might –or might not– have), but it’s completely free and may be copied and distributed without obligation. If you have a modem, leave me mail on the AppleBus BBS at (818) 919–5459, or on the Desktop BBS (714) 491–1003 …and let me know what you like (or don’t like!) about the program. Or send “regular” mail to:

Stratego® for the Macintosh was written on a 2–megabyte Mac Plus (for the most part), and runs within a 256K Switcher or MultiFinder partition. For speed in updating the display while dragging pieces, a separate copy of the screen bitmap is used (against “The Rules”). This will require additional memory for the Mac II’s multiple bit/pixel modes… if you have one and there is a problem, please let me know.
